Polish Startup's Robot Reaches Where Humans Cannot Instead of broad concepts, we focus on concrete goals. "We are currently concentrating on solving problems encountered in the inspection and maintenance of underground infrastructure," says Jakub Bartoszek, Co-Founder and CTO of MAB Robotics, in the interview.
30 Under 30: A List of Young Poles Conquering the World In Poland, very few university spin-offs evolve into serious businesses. However, MAB Robotics with Jakub Bartoszek as the CTO, a company specializing in the inspection and maintenance of water and sewage infrastructure using legged robots, has a strong chance of doing so.
Robot Deployed into the Sewer System MAB Robotics, a company that utilizes mobile robots for work in environments challenging for humans, recently tested its solutions in a municipal sewer. A remotely controlled robot, equipped with a camera, entered the covered section of ditches between Opiesińska and Pomorska Streets in Zduńska Wola. The Honey Badger robot, outfitted with proprietary software for laser inventory of underground infrastructure, was the one deployed into Zduńska Wola's sewers.

True technology adapts to your needs
We are engineers, innovators, and motion specialists united by one purpose: building the next generation of mobility. Since 2016, we've pioneered integrated motion technologies by converging expertise across hardware and control systems, while developing our reliable product range - from universal brushless motor controllers, by highly integrated robotic actuators to robotics platforms for the hardest scenarios.
At MAB Robotics, we design for versatility. Our products are utilized across a wide range of industries worldwide. We bridge the gap between groundbreaking research, the full potential of robotics, and real-world demands. This is because true innovation isn't just about movement - it's about enabling progress where it matters most.

The origins
Somebody asked us:
"Are you able to deliver a robotic actuator for me?"
As a result, the first MD80 brushless motor controller was delivered and became a product. This year, we secured a pre-seed investment from YouNick Mint VC, accelerating our development.
Technology development and startup growth significantly accelerated. Next versions of the Honey Badger were introduced, and the robot was able to provide the first inspection services underground - inside heat distribution tunnels and water and sewage canals in Poznań city. The company started to be visible on the market and has been rewarded with multiple technology and entrepreneurship awards.
MAB's robotic actuators started to be used in mobile platforms not only on wheels or legs, but also in flying and swimming ones, all over the world. The company provided ultralight robotic arms to a customer and acquired the first contracts for quadrupeds delivery.
The team founded MAB Robotics as the first spin-off from the PUT university and the startup journey began. The second robot was created as a POC of the technology - inspection and maintenance platform.
2024 began with the premiere of our Honey Badger 4.0 platform. Throughout the year, we expanded our portfolio with innovative releases — including new motor controllers, actuator series and a power management board. Our products reached new customers across continents and our team grew significantly to meet rising demand.
The journey of MAB Robotics began with its founders – Jakub Bartoszek, Łukasz Antczak, and Jakub Matyszczak – as they started with mobile robotics in the student research group KN Mechatron at Poznan University of Technology. Their initial constructions quickly gained recognition, earning awards in numerous local and international robotics competitions. Through this experience, the team cultivated invaluable know-how and developed their very first motor controller. Just one year later, with the crucial support of Dr. Krzysztof Walas, their pioneering legged robot took its first steps.
